Why Egypt
-
Egypt offers efficient and rapid delivery to major markets, as it is strategically located at the crossroads of Europe, Asia, and Africa. Its proximity to Europe positions Egypt as an attractive nearshore location.
-
Egypt's multiple trade agreements with Europe (EUR1) and other major markets make our products eligible for up to 0% customs duty.
-
According to the last Citrus Annual, Dec. 2023, Egypt has become a leading exporter of fresh oranges. This is due to higher yields per hectare, favorable environmental conditions, and a successful traceability system in registering and monitoring farm production.
Egypt's latest orange harvests have a low incidence of symptoms of the main citrus disease, greening (or Huanglongbing—HLB), that affect other major market suppliers. This success is mainly due to Egypt's fruit groves using yellow-soil agriculture practices. -
Egypt's unique climate provides the ideal growing conditions for producing vibrant, juicy, and flavorful fruit; e.g., Egyptian oranges are rich in vitamin C.
